Tec 45
DECOMPRESSION REFINED
Course Overview
The Tec 45 course is the second sub-division of the PADI Tec Deep Diver course. It introduces you to the first stages of full, un-curtailed decompression diving using a single stage cylinder with up to 100% Oxygen.
You will refine your skills in gas switching, station keeping, and deco management, preparing you for the most demanding technical environments.
Who it is for
- check_circle Certified Tec 40 divers ready to extend their accelerated decompression capabilities.
- check_circle Divers seeking mastery of single-stage decompression protocols.
- check_circle Mission-oriented divers requiring longer run times at 45m depths.
Prerequisites
Outcome & Skills
Accelerated Deco
Learn to utilize 100% Oxygen for significantly reduced decompression times.
Gas Switching
Master the disciplined procedure of switching gases while maintaining depth and trim.
Response Drills
Advanced handling of deco-gas loss and cylinder failures in high-pressure scenarios.
The Expedition Kit
Standard double-tank configuration with manifold or sidemount set.
7L or 11L (80 cu ft) cylinder O2 clean for decompression gas.
Deco stage rigging with high-strength stainless steel hardware.
Desktop deco software for dive planning and table generation.
Phase Breakdown
Deep Theory Master
Planning single-gas decompression profiles and gas optimization strategies.
Skill Refinement
Handling the complexity of a deco cylinder while executing station keeping.
Training Dives 1 - 4
Full open water training dives concluding with a 45m accelerated deco dive.
Master the Deco Station
Tec 45 separates the casual explorer from the dedicated technical diver. It demands discipline and focus.
